Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Planning – Engineer to prepare and monitor production plans and schedules based on customer orders, delivery commitments, inventory levels and available production capacity.
The role involves close coordination with Production, Purchase, Stores, Quality and Sales teams to ensure timely availability of materials, manpower and machine capacity for smooth and timely production.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Scheduling
- Prepare production plans and schedules based on customer orders and delivery commitments.
- Monitor production schedules and ensure timely execution of planned activities.
- Coordinate with Production to track actual production against planned schedules.
- Identify delays, bottlenecks and capacity constraints and take timely corrective action.
- Ensure production plans are aligned with customer delivery requirements.
Material Planning
- Plan material requirements based on production schedules and customer orders.
- Coordinate with Purchase and Stores for timely availability of required materials.
- Monitor inventory levels and material availability.
- Identify material shortages and follow up for timely procurement.
- Ensure optimum inventory levels to support production requirements.
Capacity & Resource Planning
- Monitor available machine and production capacity.
- Plan manpower and machine utilization based on production requirements.
- Coordinate with Production for effective utilization of available resources.
- Identify capacity constraints and coordinate corrective actions.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate with Production, Purchase, Stores, Quality and Sales teams.
- Coordinate with Sales regarding customer orders and delivery commitments.
- Ensure production plans are aligned with material availability and quality requirements.
- Maintain effective communication between departments to ensure smooth production flow.
ERP & MIS
- Update and maintain planning-related data in the ERP system.
- Monitor production and material status through ERP.
- Prepare planning reports and production schedules using MS Excel.
- Maintain accurate records of production plans, schedules and material requirements.

Candidate Profile
- 3–5 years of practical experience in production planning.
- Experience in an engineering or manufacturing company will be preferred.
- Good understanding of BOM, material planning, production scheduling and capacity planning.
- Practical knowledge of production planning and delivery planning.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems and MS Excel will be preferred.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with Production, Purchase, Stores, Quality and Sales teams.
- Strong analytical, planning and follow-up skills.
- Ability to identify production delays, material shortages and capacity constraints.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
